Environment and Heredity

Conventional science has a running debate over which is more important, environment or heredity.
This is typical of the dualism that pervades our civilization. If you just meditate on this question about your own life, you will discover something in you that is certainly neither of these two most powerful forces. However, it is very subtle and would be apparent only to yourself. This is one of the ways to become aware of the spirit in yourself, where you are your own Being and not that of either your parents or your surrounding circumstances.
When you awaken to your own spirit, you can discover in this contemplation that you have pre-existed and that you will live again. This discovery will enable you to rise above the small ego that makes you so insecure and fearful.
www.classicinsights.com offers courses that will help you to get over your fears and insecurities by becoming much more aware of your true self.  The courses that most directly deal with the issues of environment, heredity and your spiritual self are:

What does Repent mean?

What does repent mean?
Religious people keep repeating this word, but do not understand its implications. Repent means to re-think, not to use merely your brain but to contact the spirit in yourself, the Logos, the Word, and Love itself. Unless you learn how to rise above your environment and heredity, you are not repenting. You must learn how to experience body-free, sense-free thinking. The easiest example of this thinking is in geometry. The concept of a triangle is pure thought. It is Universal, not to be seen on the physical plane until it is drawn where the particular is always different.
In the Middle Ages there was a major controversy between the Nominalists and the Realists. The nominalist claimed that there is no reality but the name for the thing itself. The Nominalists won out and today most everyone is a Nominalist. Today the nominalist is accepted as being a Realist. We all must repent this false view because it is gross materialism which disavows the Spirit World of Pure Thinking. The World of Universals, of pure Concepts, is where Humankind can find the path to spirit and come together in Freedom and Love.

Secret Name of God

Why is it essential to know that the secret name of God Is “I AM”?

What is the difference between the “normal” use of “I am” and the experience of the much greater “I AM?”

Our “normal” way of thinking is no longer the healthy way of thinking. The normal way is solely using the brain and the intellectual aspect of yourself . The healthy way does not come naturally, but must be awakened through contemplation, meditation and spiritual activity.
The path through pure thought is the only healthy way to experience your own spiritual self. Any other way to God will miss the crucial role we all play as Spiritual Beings working through our physical bodies.
Pure thought does not depend on your environment or heredity, but is sense free, body free. A good example of this is the concept of a circle which is the same no matter what your race, religion or culture is.

Mozart, Beethoven & Spiritual Self Conscious Awareness

Mozart & Beethoven Blog

What can the music of Mozart and Beethoven tell us about ourselves?

If we realize that Mozart’s opera The Magic Flute was about Freemason initiation, we can begin to take our own initiation into spiritual matters much more seriously.

Mozart worked like a channel for his inspiration.  His manuscripts are very clean with almost no corrections.   Beethoven, who lived just a bit later than Mozart, had many, many corrections to his manuscripts.  From this we can learn that there has been an evolution in spiritual self- conscious awareness, just between Mozart and Beethoven.  What about our own spiritual evolution?

Find out much more about initiation, music, and the evolution of spiritual self-conscious awareness by taking these courses in www.classicinsights.com:

Alchemy, Seership & Ben Franklin

In what ways was Ben Franklin an alchemist or a seer?  What is an alchemist or seer anyway?

In the Alchemical tradition, the highest aspiration is the fertilization, gestation, and birth of a higher being within the soul of the lower human personality. The first birth is into a body of flesh, governed by the laws of nature and returning to nature when we die. Alchemists seek a second birth that is, as Jung said, a work against nature (opus contra naturam).

A seer is one who sees much more clearly than others.  Franklin was both an alchemist and a seer.  To find out much more and to become both an alchemist and a seer, why not take one or both these courses of www.classicinsights.com?

Ben Franklin, Freemasonry & Rosicrucianism

What are Freemasonry and Rosicrucianism?  What is their value to us today in the way we live?  What was Ben Franklin’s relationship to these organizations?  What did they mean to him?

Both of these brotherhoods promote spiritual experiences and the brotherhood of Humankind and are not burdened by doctrine and dogma,  Rosicrucianism being much more secret.  Rosicrucian Alchemy, in contrast to the gross Alchemy that was much better known and practiced in Medieval times, contains the Spiritual Science of Future Ages.  Both groups have had an enormous influence on Human evolution although historians have not awakened to this fact yet.

To find out much more about all of this take course #26 of www.classicinsights.com and/or participate in our seminar on this subject the weekend of May 18 at the Interlaken Inn, Lakeville, Ct. http://www.classicinsights.com/courses/course-descriptions/94-benjamin-franklin-american-initiate

Is there Evil in the World? Why would that be?

Why would an all-powerful, omnipotent God create Evil? That is a very good question that has troubled many thoughtful people over the ages.

Evil began with the birth of the Ego. We all have to go through the negative before we can appreciate the positive. God gave us freedom. The price for this freedom is that we have to go through Evil, i.e. egotism, first. One finger cannot love another. We had to separate from the Divine to experience Freedom.

Freedom is the necessary prerequisite to Love. Freedom is not just or only freedom of choice. When there is choice, the choices are already created. Freedom has to do with creativity out of nothing. This is where Love is. This Creation out of nothing is the story of Genesis. We are all learning how to accomplish this feat, first in small ways, then in larger and larger ways.

Don’t be discouraged. You can’t expect to be self-realized overnight. It is a never-ending process. All spiritual beings evolve as the Human Being can. But it is not automatic. Each one of us can then help others evolve. This is the intended purpose of us all.

For much more instruction on this, take a look at Classic Insights course #9: Job, Oedipus, and Blake, or # 16: Ben Franklin.

Do animals have consciousness? Do plants have consciousness? Do minerals have consciousness?

These are not the best questions to ask.  The question should be, “what is Human Consciousness?”   The Human Being has its own special spiritual, creative, self-conscious awareness that is capable of achieving higher and higher levels of consciousness.  This level includes the doing, not just the feeling and the thinking.

The “normal” level of Human Consciousness is not a healthy level, but must be transformed into one.   We can do this by elevating our level of thinking.  We can begin by thinking about thinking.  This is very hard to do because the moment we are conscious about thinking it becomes part of the past.  We want to capture that moment when thinking is pure and out-of-body as the concept “Circle” is.  Not matter what your race, color or creed is, the concept “Circle” is identical for everyone.  It has spiritual qualities. You can meditate on this thought and begin this process that is without end.

For further information and training, look at our Classic Insights course #23: Thinking about Thinking.

What does thinking with your heart actually mean?

There are two types of thinking, through the head and through the heart.  Both are necessary in combination, not one or the other.  Head thinking is concerned with facts, which really means “after the acts.”

This is the reason that clever people are like computers and have ready-made facts at their command.  Economic and Political leaders are good examples of this type of thinking.  It is not really thinking but appears to be.  It is a mirrored sort of computer type of consciousness.

On the other hand, creativity comes before there are any facts.  Thinkers like Einstein are much less concerned with facts and much more concerned with creating new facts.  Rembrandt, Leonardo, Mozart and Beethoven are other examples.

Creativity is based on heart-thinking, not head thinking.  This is the reason that creative people often do not do well at conventional school.

Egotism is the enemy of either type of thinking and is a curse in our society as a whole.

Creativity is related to pure thought and to love itself.  After all, real love is creation out of nothing but for the pure joy of the free act itself.  There is no cause or expectations in pure love.

Classic Insights has many courses that will heighten your awareness as to how to think much better with your heart:

Course # 1: Rembrandt, Herald of a New Age
Course # 6: Mozart and the Evolution of Western Music
Course # 26: Thinking with your Heart

What are prior life recollections worth to you?

First of all, these recollections prove to you that you are much more than you think you are in this present body and present incarnation.
They expand your time-frame so that you can put much more perspective on daily occurrences.  As far back into the past you can go with your soul and your spirit, this is how far into the future you can go, not with the details but with a much better understanding of what the future will hold for you and the world.

These experiences will greatly expand the appreciation of yourself and what you can accomplish in and for the world.

These spiritual experiences open up to you the appreciation of both your friends and enemies in this life time.  Who actually are your enemies?  It turns out that they are people that you have met before and who are instrumental in helping you to be who you are.  Actually, they are your hidden friends.  This is the secret to being able to really love your enemies.

How do you know that these recollections and/or prior life experiences of any kind are “true?”  What is truth except the love that comes to help you with your life as it is now.

Classic Insights provides a great deal of assistance for you to uncover much more of your real self. Here are three courses which deal specially with prior lives:

# 16: Ben Franklin

#17 The Bhagavad Gita and Self-Education

#29: The Roots of Genius – Edison and Ford.
