Thinking About Thinking
$99
"Sow a thought, reap a deed, Sow a deed, reap a habit, Sow a habit, reap a character, Sow a character, reap a destiny."
(proverb)
What do we use most in life but never see and of which we are barely, if ever, aware? The answer is thinking. The way we see, or adjudge, or explain that answer, or its correctness, is by thinking about it. Only our thinking can explain our thinking or anything else to us. Yet our thinking is one of aspects of ourselves we least understand. The thinking we constantly use and on which we rely from morning to night – which we identify with our conscious selves, our "State of mind" – is what poses the greatest mystery to us. Moreover, if we aren’t conscious of what thinking really is or how it functions, we are in danger of under-using it, misusing it, abusing it, thereby forsaking a fuller, more conscious life. Thinking determines what we do, how we live, the kinds of personalities we develop, and patterns of our biographies. This course helps us become more aware of our own thinking and what it means.
